EDUC463: Methods in Teaching Language Arts

My Dream Unit to Teach
One of our overarching assignments in Dr. Ricki Ginsberg's EDUC463 Methods class in the Fall Semester of 2024 at Colorado State University was to create our "dream unit." If I had the opportunity to teach a unit on anything I wanted, I would want to teach Beowulf to high school students. I am incredibly passionate about ancient literature and have had the opportunity to study Medieval English literature at Oxford University in the UK, which has only increased my enthusiasm for sharing the oldest examples of English literature that we have. I believe that we have much to learn from medieval literature as it informs all of the literature that descended from it to the modern day.
